Far Away From Me
A song I started writing when I was dealing with the imminent loss of my late Stepfather, and later finished while coping with his abscence. This performance is the only time I've played this song live, in front of a crowd, and it felt good to share it today on the 2 year anniversary of his flight to the heavens. I still feel him perched like an eagle on my shoulder from time to time. Fly in peace my friend.

Thank you Janet for the words of connection. This song speaks my truth about a man who taught me so much, and one I miss in the physical form every day. I never intended on singing it publicly, or sharing it for that matter, but with encouragement from a close friend, and her connection to the song, I decided to let it live in the hearts of whomever welcomed it. I'm glad it found a place with you :)

This song touched my heart when I saw it on youtube..Thank you for sharing it.
My mom passed away in my arms in May of 2004..I think of her every single day.I know for a fact that she watches over me when I need her most..as I am sure your stepfather watches over you.
